Production[]
The idea for this video came about when the creators wanted to do something "daring" with Cat Ghost, such a random broadcast or a secret code in an unlikely place, and then settled on "hijacking" another channel.
Tony Crynight was a fan of Kris Patrick's previous project, The Bedfellows, and a friend of Alexis Ruiz, who had also auditioned for a previous project of Tony Crynight.
The speedpainting in the video is done by Tony Crynight himself, while Naarah was animated by Kris and voiced and lipsynced by Alexis. The creation of the video took about one month.
All of Naarah's comments in the video (save for the "go ahead and drop me" line) were completely improvised, as the only direction given to Alexis Ruiz was "You are in a box. You suddenly notice where you are. Comment on what you see. Try to escape. Nail final line". During the recording of the scene in which Naarah is trying to escape, Kris was holding Alexis by her arms as she tried to break out of his grip, in order to make the acting more authentic.
Trivia[]
- The song that plays while Naarah floats through space is called "Blank Letter to God" and was performed by statusq.[1]
