The chair is an important object in Cat Ghost[1].
Appearance[]
The chair looks largely ordinary, made of what appears to be normal wood.
It first appeared in the Dark Forest in the game Happybirthday. There it is seen suspended from something off-screen (presumably a tree) by four ropes.
The chair made its second appearance in the game Joke, where it can be seen underwater, after tapping the word "Proselyte" on the door.
The chair is seen again in Unholy Circle, lying on its back near a lake.
Its first video appearance was in CatGhost 2 Knock, where a picture of it quickly flashed across the screen while Gideon was being hypnotized.
It appeared again in Tony Crynight's Speedpainting video, where Naarah is seen sitting on it during a dream-like sequence.
There are some differences in the design of the chairs, but this is likely only because of the difference in art style.
The chair is one of the objects that can appear in Exit. Its appearance is the same as in Happybirthday, minus the ropes.
Association with witches[]
It is highly likely that this chair is part of a cucking stool, a device used to dunk witches in the early 17th to 18th century.
Due to its connection with Naarah (as tapping her title of "Proselyte" on the door gives an image of a skeleton and the chair under water), it is highly likely that the chair was involved in her death.
Trivia[]
- The chair was mentioned by Key in a Live Session. When the player asks how they can leave to be safe, Key (highly implied in this instance to be Bethany speaking) says that they must "find the chair that remains in flight."[2]
