Early plot[]

This episode was originally given the title "Board" and revolved around the group playing with a Ouija board. It would have started with Naarah trying to scare Gideon, who would reveal that he cannot feel fear (a joke that was re-used in CatGhost 9 Welcome Home). Naarah would then ask Elon for help, who would suggest summoning a spirit using an Ouija board. When they attempt it, Elon gets dragged into the board by "hell hounds", and Naarah gets pulled into the shadows by "ghosty vines", and a clone of Gideon would appear, who would have an "uncomfortable conversation" with the real Gideon (a concept that was also re-used in later episodes).

An idea that was suggested for a game accompanying the episode was a Ouija board, which would act like Key.

The episode was already fully voiced when it was decided to do something else instead. The script for the episode that was used instead is supposed to develop the relationships between the characters more, and set the tone that the rest of the series would follow. In total, there were 4 script changes.

Trivia[]

  • The song that Elon sings is called "Unfair" and was written by Alexis Ruiz, who originally made it up as a joke to Kris Patrick. There exists a full-length version of, but it has not yet been released publicly.
  • The song ЯOЯЯIM that was used in the episode was inspired by bands The Pillows and The Pixies.
